COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Remediation can be very beneficial for local communities as it enables brownfield and derelict land to be built upon and can raise land value.

However, as with any works, communities can be worried about the effect our operations could have on their daily lives.

In the view of building a positive legacy for the company, we endeavour to employ local labour and suppliers, contribute positively to the communities we work in and provide support to anyone who feels they will be affected by our work.

We implement a three-point plan in our community liaison:

    • Education – We explain the process, the monitoring data that we have collected, test results and why we’re doing what we’re doing.
    • Minimal Disruption – We set up monitoring equipment at the site boundaries and ensure we keep within limits set at the start of the project. We ensure that logistics plans are in place so that deliveries are managed and road sweepers are employed when necessary.
    • Work Together – The programme can be created or modified to fit around community events and requirements. We maintain an open line of communication to ensure that everyone is up-to-date on our progress.

Contact information is up outside our sites and any complaints will be taken seriously and dealt with swiftly.
